Remote fill level monitoring with radar

Optimize industrial waste collection with Radar Xentral, a wireless radar sensor that provides accurate, real-time fill level data for waste containers that move around. Reduce unnecessary pickups, lower CO₂ emissions, and prevent overflowing bins with smart waste management.
With Xtellio Radar Xentral, setup is simple—just enter the container’s empty height, and the system calculates minimum, average, and total fill levels. Plus, Xtellio offers API documentation, allowing you to seamlessly integrate collected data into your preferred applications for customized waste management solutions.

Radar – the right choice for waste containers

Radar technology is particularly well-suited for measuring waste container levels. Compared to other techniques, such as ultrasound or laser, a radar solution is more reliable because dirt and dust on the device do not affect the measurement results. This means you don’t constantly need to service the unit or go out to wipe the lens.
Radar measurements are also not sensitive to changing weather conditions, unlike ultrasound, which requires frequent calibrations. The Radar Xentral scans a surface and calculates an average fill level, preventing measurement errors that can occur with lasers, which only measure a single point.

With the Xtellio Radar solution, we now have full visibility into the fill levels of our waste containers. This has significantly improved our route planning, reduced unnecessary collections, and ensured that no container overflows. The best part? We only need one license to cover a cluster of up to nine radars, making it a cost-effective and scalable solution.

Affordable cluster solution

Xtellio Radar Xenses offer the same capabilities as the Radar Xentral—just without a built-in SIM. They transmit data via Short-Range Low-Power communication. When paired, a single Radar Xentral can act as a gateway for up to eight Xense devices. This allows a cluster of containers to operate with up to nine Radar units while requiring only one subscription, making it a highly cost-effective solution.

Easy to install

Xtellio Radar is battery powered, and transmits data to cloud via the mobile network.
Activate the device by long-press device button for 5+ seconds, and use Xtellio Picco mobile app to scan the device QR code for easy device setup (and pairing with Xenses) before mounting. Verify the collected data in Picco mobile app or Butler web app or integrate it seamlessly into any preferred application of your own with Xtellio APIs.
